When God wants to make our character into His own, He gives us stories.
When God wants to impress us, He displays His power in a
roaring waterfall or white lightning streaking through the midnight sky.
When God wants our attention, He allows pain and suffering
to touch our mortalframe.
As C.S. Lewis said, "Pain is God's megaphone" to summon
us.
But when God wants to woo us and make Himself known to
us, in the most intimate way possible, He gives us stories. Stories to
capture our fancy. Stories that make us laugh and cry. Stories which make
His presence deep and rich in our souls. Yes, when God wants to make our
character into His own, He gives us stories.
